Strength for Selah – A True Display of Hockey’s Heart
UPDATE:
Thank you so much for supporting the Strength for Selah Campaign this weekend. The Whitecaps were busy sending her strength, grit, lots of love, support, and determination. What started as u11 50-50 game proceeds yesterday turned into a fantastic wave of giving and kindness from the KMC in Antigonish right to the arena in Inverness!
The 18AA Teal also jumped in to support when they got word at their own game at KMC! Donations from teams, families and QC Board amounting to $2786.00. The true spirit of the game continued today as QC Black travelled to play against MWF White along with Selah.
ORIGINAL POST:
Again, thank managers, coaches, players, families and the Board of Directors.
This past Sunday, the March & Mill Co. Hunters U18 and Metro West Force Female U11 families, along with their players, parents, and the larger hockey community, came together for something bigger than the game itself—to show love, support, and unwavering strength for 10-year-old Selah Panacci-MacCallum—daughter of Hunters Principal and Head Coach JP MacCallum—in her fight against cancer.
From the moment the doors opened at Cole Harbour Place, the energy in the rink was electric. Selah, a fighter in every sense of the word, stood strong as she was honored before the game—reminding us all what true courage looks like. The Hunters took to the ice in their brand-new warm-up jerseys dedicated to her, a symbol of the team’s support and the unity that defines hockey at its best.
THIS is what hockey is about—moments like these. The moments that remind us hockey is a family. A family that stands together, lifts each other up, and proves, time and time again, that the game is about so much more than what happens on the ice. THIS is hockey culture.
To everyone who showed up, cheered, donated, and supported—thank you. To our incredible sponsors—Tuna Blue, Perma-Dry, Next Level Athletics, and Steve Bent's Hockey Ambitions—we are beyond grateful for your generosity. And most of all, to Selah—you inspire us all with your strength, your resilience, and your unbreakable spirit.
The fight continues, but Selah, know this—you’re never skating alone. We are all behind you.
