In October 2024, Hockey Canada published Building the Future of Women’s and Girls’ Hockey, a national discussion paper written by a steering committee that included six National Women’s Team alumnae:

The paper identified six barriers in women’s and girls’ hockey, which are keeping the sport from realizing its true potential: structure, equity in resource allocation, policy and governance, education and training, data, and visibility and celebration.
